Today the 21st a new law named “Decreto de medidas de impulso de la sociedad de la información en Andalucía” (Commandment to the strengthening of information technologies in Andalusia) has been officially announced by “La Junta de Andalucia” (Andalusian Regional Government).
Hispalinux wants to show its disposal to Colaborate and to Share this way with everyone who decide to improve the local technological development, stimulating local actors' innovative actions, to let everyone getting into the Knowledge Society.

This commandment includes several actions intended to take this region, in an ordered and scheduled process, to achieve the desired levels of IT knowledge, while providing all resources needed in each environment (educational, business, social, etc) involved in this process.This announcement has been received enthusiastically by the Free Software community, as is intended to be developed using Free Software.

All public educational centre necessities are intended to be fulfilled, first of all, with Free Software. At least, all software development carried out by “La Junta de Andalucia” or any official educational entity should by developed in such a way. It is compulsory to all hardware acquired by official educational centres to be fully compatible with Free Software operating systems. Furthermore, it must be preinstalled in all new bought computers. In addition, all official Internet access points must be equipped with this kind of software.
In a few words, “La Junta de Andalucia” will promote Free Software as the main vehicle to accomplish its objectives and, in order to facilitate this mission, a official assessment and support centre will be created.
